Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Okay, so it's a little late on the valentine greetings. Better late than never.

Here's a rose from my honey...

Garden Show results

Well I am sure you all are dying to know how my pictures did in the Garden Show this past weekend. JK. I got 2 ribbons! ...a 3rd place on one of my rose shots and an honorable mention on my dahlia, both thanks to Corey's uncle in Oregon and his beautiful flower beds!!! I was disappointed that my butterfly picture didn't place (it was definitely better than the 3rd place in that category), but that's the way it goes. I wasn't the judge! :-) I did have a great opportunity to talk to one of the other entrants who won ribbons on 6 of his 12 pictures. He has some of his pictures on display in a local gallery, so I want to check that out. It's so fun to talk to people with similar interests!!!
So now I have to go out and take more pictures!

My new little lady

I've always been fascinated with orchids...and the challenge of growing them. Let's see how I fare with this little lady. Doesn't she look sweet? I bought her at the Garden Show this past weekend. A man was selling them there. He has a business growing them in a cave! It's called Bird's Botanicals and you can check it out here.

Photography blurb

Well, they say you have to start out small. I've decided to enter my first photography competition. I don't know how tough it is, but the rewards are just a brightly colored ribbon to hang on your wall. :-) It will be good experience, though, and I had fun getting ready for it. Here are the 10 prints I'm entering at the Garden Show...hence a horticulture theme! Yes, your vote counts with me. :-)

Is this our last snow yet?

A Walk at the Lake

Enjoying the first swing of the year. We had warm weather today! Thankfully it wasn't too muddy to enjoy it.
"Tucking" in for a rest. These geese were fun to watch. They were sitting for a spell on the ice on the lake nearby. It was comical to watch them walk around. They slipped a little with every step and walked very gingerly. I guess they forgot their rubber boots.

Little Bakers

Playing with pie dough after Mommy made her apple pie! Each of them is wearing an apron Grammy made. We have to have 2 of everything these days, or it makes one little boy a very unhappy camper!
