Bunk beds are up!
We're really happy with the bed we bought and the boys had fun helping us put it together. Putting the bedding on was another story, but it's one small sacrifice to make two little boys sublimely happy. :-) T-boy sleeps on top and Little Guy on the bottom.

Museum trip
On Saturday we visited the Arabia Steamboat Museum in Kansas City. It was a lot of fun and very interesting. It tells the story of the Steamboat Arabia that sank in the Missouri River in 1856. All the passengers except a mule survived, but the boat was submerged and the entire cargo lost. Over time the river changed course and when unearthed, the boat was in the middle of a cornfield and 44 feet underneath ground level. A group of 5 men found the site and recovered the cargo and a small section of the boat itself in 1988. The group included a man and his 2 sons who opened the museum to share their treasure with the world. They have about 2/3 of the cargo on display in the museum (they're still working on cleaning and restoring the other 1/3) and it's a sneak peek into the past and what would have been necessities to the settlers traveling west and settling along the Missouri. If you're ever in the area, you should check it out! It's worth it!
I should have asked, but I'm not sure if this is one of the paddlewheels off the boat itself. I think it was. It was big anyway!

Master bedroom pics
This has been a work in progress. We call our style "Vintage Safari." It all started because of the ceiling fan that was in the bedroom when we moved in and the old window I found at an antique mall. The fan is wooden and looks like big palm leaves. We are still looking for artwork/accessories to finish off the look, but it's cozy now and enjoyable.

A special day!
My birthday wasn't special because of me, but because of everyone around me. My precious boys (all 3 of them) made my day very enjoyable...from birthday card doodles and butterfly stickers to chocolate cake and new camera equipement! Yippee! Thank you, boys and my honey! Love you so much!

Fine Motor Skills
This may seem a silly post unless you're a mother. :-) It's so amazing to watch your child learn new things little by little...even things like how to hold your fork and push your food onto your spoon so you can take a bite. Logan mastered this today and it was so cute. For once he didn't WANT to touch his food with his hands. :-) He's my little eater.

Toy time!
On a recent jean-shopping trip to Wally-world, the boys got to bring along their hard-earned allowance money and pick out a toy. Trevin had something definitely in mind, and Daddy helped Logan out...it was a winner. The little car they picked out can be assembled and reassembled several different ways - all with a little plastic screwdriver and screws. Logan has a blast "fixing" it...and it drives pretty nicely, too!
