First we drove to Holton for lunch. They had a fall festival and Vintage Market on their courthouse square. The boys enjoyed the petting zoo and the archery tent while mom shopped the antique booths.
A beautiful drive through the KS countryside brought us to Lawrence where we stopped at Corey's co-worker's house to borrow a hole drill bit to work on our corn hull game parts.
Is it coming through yet? :-)
Thanks to plentiful worms on the driveway after a rain the day before, we were set to go fishing!
Didn't catch much, but we enjoyed the evening!
Heron
The heron was not afraid of us. He was fishing, too, and caught one of the many little fish swimming in schools around our dock.

Saw a bald eagle!!
And some pelicans! Do they migrate?
The boys chasing a squirrel in a tree. Hilarious!
Moved on to Lake Shawnee junior where the boys knew they would catch something...
...even if it was tiny!
Beautiful evening!

Great to hear from you!
Love that shot of the boys watching for the appearance of the drill bit! Kids are so sweet and innocent and pleased by simple things. :-)
