Water fun

Broke out the water balloons and slip-n-slide on a very hot day!

Love this shot below...you can see the water exploding out of the balloon as it bursts on Corey's back. They had so much fun!

Berry pickin'

Two hot boys after picking 26 lbs. of blackberries! Thank goodness for spray water bottles, a little breeze and friends to chat with across the berry row!

4th of July

The 4th of July was interesting this year. It rained up until just before fireworks started, so we enjoyed our grilled burgers with company on a covered deck, then got to come outside and still do a few small fireworks under a beautiful rainbow. We went to see the big deal at the lake, too, though we didn't get a front row seat...we just parked in a nearby parking lot and had a pretty good view. The boys found out what it was like to sit on the roof of the van (see below) and thought they had the best view of all!

The evening was such a drag!

...race, that is! :-)
They were handing out free tickets to drag races, so we snatched them up. It was fun! Smell of hot rubber and yelling at each other to hear over the engines and earplugs.

This little guy came complete with a tire headset. I'm not promoting the mohawk. :-) Just sayin'.

It's really hard to show speed with a camera... But the cars were fun to take pictures of. Very bright and colorful!

The motorcycles were the scary ones to watch. Just so unstable. One actually lost control during a race, but no one was hurt.

Wow...all this to go top speed for a VERY short time!

Waiting for fruit

Cleaned up our blackberries, mulched them and we're waiting for the fruit to ripen.
